Dr. Khani is a board certified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmologists, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Khani specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal disorders, including routine and complex forms of retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration.

Prior to his move to the Boston North Shore area, Dr. Khani served as the director of retina services at the State University of New York in Buffalo. Dr. Khani is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Medical School and MD/PhD program. Following completion of his ophthalmology training at Washington University in St. Louis he spent the subsequent two years as fellow in Molecular Genetics at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School and VitreoRetinal training at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Along with offering specialty care to patients in the Boston North Shore area, Dr. Khani is affiliated with Harvard Medical School and carries out his research work on devising new therapies for retinal degenerations at the Schepens Eye Research Institute.
